Job Summary
The Senior Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensure that accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger account to the general ledger. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assist in the preparation of the Company’s annual financial statements and footnotes. Analyzes current costs, revenue, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process customer invoices in D365 system and follow up on outstanding Accounts Receivable.
- Assist in creating monthly and quarterly management reporting packages.
- Monitor and track company leases for accounting treatment under ASC 842. Prepare initial lease journal entries and subsequent monthly journal entries and annual disclosures.
- Assist in maintaining listing of Property, Plant and Equipment and preparation of accurate monthly depreciation entries.
- Assist in gathering audit supporting schedules for annual audit and quarterly reviews.
- Assist in gathering supporting documentation to be provided to company’s tax providers.
- Lead projects to implement standardized processes and procedures for the company.
- Reviews departmental budget vs actual expenses and provides explanations of variances.
- Assists with the completion of other monthly closing activities as required.
- Assists with the completion of the various quarterly and business plan reporting schedules.
- Develops and maintains a cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA certification is a plus.
- Must have 5-7 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, project accounting and banking working knowledge.
- Experience in manufacturing and construction industry a plus
- Proficiency in spreadsheet packages (Excel), as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision; take proactive role in executing assignments in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload based on changing needs and manage through conflicting perspectives

- Sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolong periods of time
- Walk/move around and/or travel as needed (less than 10% travel)
Work Schedule
- Full-time 40 hours and generally scheduled Monday through Friday 8am-5pm EST
- Work schedule to be established with supervisor to ensure Company’s client and business needs are met
