Arlington Public Schools seeks a teacher of Spanish at Ottoson Middle School, starting August 31, 2026.
Candidates should have advanced oral proficiency in Spanish and demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English. Candidates should have knowledge of effective world languages pedagogy, with an emphasis on oral proficiency; ability to use a variety of materials and modes of instruction, including effective use of technology; ability to incorporate authentic resources with novice students; and effective techniques for classroom management. The position requires the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and community members, and to collaborate professionally with colleagues within and beyond the World Languages Department. Keen organizational skills are essential.
Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching licensure, Foreign Language [Spanish], Grades 5-12, is required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 183 Days
REPORTS TO: Director of World Languages and Building Administrator
Arlington has a well established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year.
Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
