What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hebrew Teacher, grades 3-5 position at Schechter Boston (Grades 4-8)?
Schechter Boston is hiring a Hebrew teacher for grades 3-5. The specific grade level will be determined based on need later this spring. We are a Jewish day school in the Boston area serving families from across the Jewish spectrum—from secular to orthodox. We are known for our exceptional Hebrew program, which helps students develop a love of Hebrew and a deep connection to Israel from an early age.

What you will do
In collaboration with our Hebrew Team Lead, you will:
Design, plan and implement lessons that motivate students and create active learning experiences.
Prepare and implement differentiated instruction, activities and assessments that meet the needs of every student.
Build relationships with all students, so they are actively engaged in the classroom activities.
Create and maintain a safe, well-structured physical environment that is conducive to student learning.
Qualifications
We are especially interested in candidates who bring experience teaching Hebrew as a second language in elementary grades and are eager to contribute to curriculum design, peer coaching, or departmental growth. In addition, we are looking for people who have the following:
Native Hebrew Speaker
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of two years experience teaching Hebrew as a foreign language in an elementary school setting
Strong pedagogical skills and a collaborative spirit
Pay and Benefits
Salary range is $54,000-$104,000, commensurate with experience
