Responsibilities
- Develop, standardize, and improve manufacturing processes for plastic injection molding, rollforming, and related operations.
- Read and interpret CAD data, blueprints, GD&T, CMM reports, and customer specifications.
- Lead troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and process optimization activities to improve quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct and analyze DOE studies, SPC/data analysis, and problem-solving initiatives using scientific methods and Six Sigma principles.
- Support new product launches, manufacturing maturation, PFMEA activities, tooling development, and capital equipment procurement.
- Lead mid-sized engineering projects with minimal supervision while ensuring timely execution and effective cross-functional communication.
- Support quoting, feasibility reviews, and process planning for new business opportunities.
- Develop and implement advanced manufacturing technologies, equipment specifications, and process improvements.
- Train and mentor engineers and share best practices across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 3-7 years of engineering experience; OR Master's degree in Engineering with 0-3 years of experience; OR Associate degree/Journeyman certification with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with DOE, SPC, statistics, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding and rollforming.
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and dimensional reports.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
