Equine Barn Manager
Horseshoe Lake Stables
Part-Time | 20–30 Hours Per Week
Horseshoe Lake Stables is looking for a reliable, experienced barn manager to help oversee the daily care of our horses and the upkeep of our facility. We are a 60-acre property with 20 indoor stalls, an indoor riding arena, outdoor paddocks, and pastures. We're looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable, and enjoys taking pride in keeping a barn running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and monitor horses daily.
- Clean stalls and keep the barn, arena, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
- Turn horses in and out safely.
- Watch for any signs of illness or injury and communicate concerns promptly.
- Operate a skid steer for manure removal, moving hay, and general property maintenance (experience preferred).
- Assist with mowing, dragging the arena, fence repairs, and other routine maintenance around the property.
- Keep feed, hay, and bedding stocked and organized.
- Help coordinate farrier and veterinary visits when needed.
- Make sure the facility stays safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Assist with other barn duties as they arise.
Qualifications
- Previous horse care or barn management experience is required.
- Comfortable handling horses of all ages and temperaments.
- Experience operating a skid steer or other farm equipment is preferred.
- Basic maintenance and mechanical skills are a plus.
- Able to work independently and stay organized.
- Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work in all types of weather.
Schedule
- Part-time, 20–30 hours per week.
- Some weekends and holidays are required.
- Flexible schedule may be available for the right candidate.
