What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Summer Groundskeeper Helper (Temporary) position at Othello School District 147?
Job Description
- Operate multiple types of power equipment for the purposes maintaining the school grounds, such as-riding mowers, push mowers, trimmers, chain saws, trenchers, sod cutters, etc. to maintain the grounds district-wide.
- Ability to use small hand tools for trimming trees, bushes, and other vegetation
- Prepping and painting interior and exterior surfaces
- Moving classroom furniture within buildings and between building locations.
- Ability to work effectively alone on all projects with little to no superivision.
- Ablitliy to communicate effectivily verbally, in writing, and email.
- Other duties may be assigned by Maintenance Department Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following criteria:
- Current High School student, High School Graduate, or GED.
- Must have a valid Washington state driver’s license.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Physical ability to walk, use hands to use tools and/or equipment, unrestricted range of motion, able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
- Must have a clean driving record and pass a driving abstract background check.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job:
- The employee regularly works outside
- The employee frequently works near/around moving mechanical parts
- The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration
Terms of Employment
Starting Date: TBD
Salary: WA State Minimum Wage
Hours: 8 hours/day maximum
Contracted Days: Maximum of 120 workdays
