What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Tennis Instructor position at Oswegoland Park District?
Job Overview:
This position will instruct youth tennis for 5 to 12 year olds. The program is located outside at the Civic Center, 5 Ashlawn, Montgomery, IL.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Significant involvement in communicating with, but not limited to parents, children, and park district staff
- Significant involvement in program design and coordination along with tennis instruction
- Some involvement in maintaining tennis equipment and the cleanliness/care of tennis courts
- Responsible for the safety and instruction of tennis participants ages 5-12 of all skill levels
- Dress appropriately and wear sun protection at all times when working outdoors
- Create and utilize activity plans designed for all classes to accommodate the different age groups and skill sets
- Ability to take direction and to delegate
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 17 years of age
- Experience and knowledge in tennis including fundamentals, technique, rules, and regulations
- Ability to work with the public and other staff in a professional manner
- Ability to work as a team
- Possess effective communication skills
- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the District
Hours:
- Average of 10-15 hours per week
- Flexibility in available working hours
Rate:
$17-$21/hour
