What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Office Manager position at OSU Extension and Engagement?
Oregon State University Extension connects Oregon communities to relevant and important university research and education through local offices across the state.
We are hiring a Deschutes County Administrative Office Manager to lead the operations that make that work possible. This is an important role with real authority: budget oversight across multiple funding sources, HR and supervision responsibilities, facilities management, and a public-facing presence with county government and community partners. If you thrive in complex, mission-driven environments and want your work to matter locally, this is worth a close look.
OSU Extension's work in Deschutes County reaches farmers, families, kids, and communities. Our work contributes to forest health, water quality, and fire resilience. The Administrative Office Manager doesn't deliver those programs.
Their job is to make sure every faculty member has what they need to do their best work and reach more people: the funding, the facilities, the contracts, the infrastructure.
This is a leadership role for someone who finds deep satisfaction in the operational and relational work behind a mission. They'll lead a small admin team, build genuine relationships with faculty and other offices across the state, and dig into the details: where each program wants to grow, who they're not yet reaching, and how to clear the way.
