Position Summary
Osprey Software is seeking an experienced Software Support Engineer to support and enhance complex enterprise applications in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys investigating production issues, troubleshooting complex application behavior, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions.
The successful candidate will combine strong .NET development skills with a methodical approach to problem solving, production support, and continuous improvement. You will partner with Product, QA, Compliance, and Engineering teams to diagnose issues, implement fixes, and ensure application stability while supporting ongoing development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production application issues.
- Analyze application behavior to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using .NET and C# technologies.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL Server queries and stored procedures.
- Support complex legacy enterprise applications while contributing to modernization efforts.
- Review logs, debug application code, and analyze data to resolve defects.
- Work from support tickets, documented business rules, and compliance requirements to deliver timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, QA, and Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Document findings, technical recommendations, and resolution steps with clear written communication.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in application reliability, maintainability, and support processes.
- Utilize modern AI-assisted development tools, including Cursor, Claude Code, or similar agentic coding platforms, to improve development efficiency and code quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional experience developing applications with .NET and C#.
- Strong SQL Server experience, including stored procedures, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate defects, trace application behavior, and perform root cause analysis.
- Experience supporting large-scale or legacy enterprise applications.
- Strong debugging, log analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interpret existing code, business rules, and technical documentation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unitrac or financial services applications.
- Experience supporting batch processing, system integrations, or data matching workflows.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and/or Jira.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Experience developing or maintaining automated regression tests.
- Pega development experience.
- Regular experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar agentic coding platforms.
