Entry-Level Civil Engineer – TransportationOsiris 9 Consulting | Gainesville, FL (In-Office)

Company Description

Osiris 9 Consulting is a rapidly growing transportation engineering and planning firm delivering Project Development & Environment (PD&E), transportation planning, traffic engineering, and roadway design services across Florida. We're passionate about moving communities smarter and safer—and we're looking for the next generation of engineers to help us do it.

Opportunity

This is more than an entry-level role—it's a chance to help shape the future of transportation in Florida. You'll work directly on PD&E studies and conceptual development efforts that determine how Florida's transportation network evolves for decades to come. From the earliest stages of project planning through concept approval, you'll be contributing to decisions that matter.

If you're a recent graduate or early-career engineer who's self-motivated, curious, and ready to make an impact, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As part of our transportation team, you'll support FDOT and other public-sector clients across the full spectrum of project development—including PD&E studies and concept development by:

  • Assisting with PD&E studies, including alternatives analysis, purpose and need documentation, and project development milestones in accordance with FDOT standards
  • Supporting concept development for roadway corridors, intersections, and interchanges—helping communities visualize and evaluate future transportation solutions
  • Preparing conceptual roadway layouts and typical sections using MicroStation and related CADD tools
  • Conducting traffic operations, capacity, and safety analyses for roadways and intersections
  • Using GIS tools to identify, map, and quantify environmental, social, and physical impacts
  • Performing technical research and analysis under the guidance of experienced engineers
  • Developing reports, exhibits, graphics, and presentations that communicate project findings to clients and the public
  • Assisting with project schedules, data collection, and technical documentation
  • Supporting coordination with internal teams, public agencies, and stakeholders
  • Participating in client meetings and public involvement activities, as appropriate

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Engineering Intern (EI) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Interest or coursework in transportation engineering, traffic, or planning
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks professionally and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Eagerness to learn and cross-train across transportation disciplines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • Paid holidays and Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Retirement savings plan with employer match
  • Volunteer time off
  • Professional development programs and training

Additional notes

  • Salary is based on qualifications and experience.
  • Offers may require drug testing and background screening (employment/education verification, driving record check, and criminal background check), in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Osiris 9 Consulting is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any legally protected status in accordance with applicable laws.
