Hardware Systems Engineer (Failure Analysis)
We are seeking a Hardware System Engineer with Failure Analysis experience to join our team in Cupertino. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop complex analysis tools that help characterize world-class hardware products. You will work closely with the Hardware, Module, and Design & Validation teams to drive innovation and ensure product excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain analysis tools for hardware characterization and validation.
- Collaborate with hardware, module, and validation engineers to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Apply Electrical Engineering fundamentals to debug, analyze, and validate hardware modules.
- Perform functional verification and failure analysis of consumer electronics hardware and systems.
- Write and run test scripts, conduct hardware testing, and analyze resulting data
- Document designs, methodologies, and findings with strong technical writing for internal and cross-functional use.
- Manage tasks independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in hardware design, development, and validation
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree is preferred
- Must have experience with Python programming
- Experience with hardware modules or sub-systems with consumer products such as hardware, displays, touch systems, camera, and/or audio systems is preferred.
- Functional verification methods in consumer devices.
- Solid understanding of core Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, Unix is a plus
- Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work independently in dynamic, high-pressure settings.
Location: Cupertino, California (onsite Monday through Friday)
Pay Rate Range: $50-$70/h (DOE)
Duration: 18 months with possible extension
Salary : $50 - $70
