Summary
We are seeking an ES to support our Diagnostics Quality Engineering team. This role requires a software engineer who can utilize generative AI tools as a productivity multiplier to achieve faster development velocity and testing while maintaining high code quality standards. The successful candidate will work on multiple complex automation projects supporting Apple's device testing infrastructure across iOS, macOS, and watch platforms.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of software development experience with strong Python proficiency
- Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools as a development accelerator (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.)
- Knowledge of system integration, subprocess management, and API development
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex system issues
- Ability to work effectively in small team environments with direct stakeholder interaction
- Strong code design skills with experience in peer code review
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apple's TestAutomation framework
- Experience with object-oriented design patterns (Factory, Strategy, Observer, Template Method)
- Experience with XML/JSON processing, HTTP clients, and database integration
- Knowledge of device management protocols (SSH, RemoteCtl, serial communication)
- Experience with template engines (Jinja2), scripting languages (Lua, Bash), and package distribution (PyPI)
- Knowledge of NVRAM management, device communication protocols, and multi-platform abstraction
- Experience with web frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for test result visualization
Locations: Cupertino, CA (onsite)
Pay Range: $50/h-$55/h (DOE)
