We are seeking a Design Engineer II to support the design and development of automotive components and systems for a Global Automotive Company in Raymond, OH. This role builds upon foundational engineering responsibilities with increased ownership of complex designs, analysis, and support throughout prototype and production phases. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop components, parts, and systems from concept through production
- Perform design feasibility studies, cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection
- Create and maintain 3D models and layouts using CATIA V5 (V6 preferred)
- Execute hose, pipe, harness, and cable routing within vehicle systems
- Prepare, review, and release 2D and 3D engineering drawings
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability
- Support prototype builds, testing activities, and manufacturing launches
- Ensure designs meet quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and recommend design improvements for testing and mass production readiness
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of engineering design experience
- Experience in concept development, specification definition, and layout creation
- Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 (required); CATIA V6 (preferred)
- Experience creating and releasing 2D and 3D drawings
- Strong understanding and application of GD&T
- Experience with hose, pipe, harness, and cable routing
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and part construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
- Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change management processes

Type: 12 contract
Pay: $40/hr - $45/hr (DOE)
