Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Reports To: Customer Service Manager
Pay Status: Hourly
Position: Plant
Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Thursday 6am-4pm (Can be flexible for between 32-40hrs)
SUMMARY
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Counts, weighs and boxes incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information on packing slips.
- Local delivery of parts via pickup truck or box truck. Valid drivers license required, but CDL not required.
- Maintains inventory of finished goods.
- Creates paperwork for outside processing and shipments.
- Operates forklift to move incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain maintenance log on truck, forklift and crane.
- Use scale to correctly count or weigh incoming and outgoing parts.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Carry out work according to safety policies, OSHA standards and ISO requirements.
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, convert to decimals, use of scales.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees are regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employee will be working with cutting oil and solvents.
