Description
1. Attend and participate in all regular and special meetings called by Central Office.
2. Share information with members of the ELL department about new teaching materials and methods, and offer tailored staff development opportunities.
3. Facilitate ELL department meetings on a regular basis to support program, school, and district goals.
4. Coordinate and facilitate district K-12 collaborations. Contribute to the planning of professional development initiatives district-wide.
5. Provide strong instructional leadership. Collaborate with K-12 ELL teachers upon their request, ensuring ongoing consultations to enhance instruction. Support ELL teachers in managing day-to-day instructional challenges and serve as a resource for ELL-specific and curriculum-related queries.
6. Collaborate inclusively with other coordinators, department chairpersons, and school personnel to maintain consistency and continuinty in ELL programming, board policies, administrative guidelines, and other district-wide areas.
7. Facilitate data analyses collaboratively with the ELL department to develop action plans aimed at improving student learning and supporting school improvement plans.
8. Coordinate strategies within the ELL department for implementing planned ELL programs and standards-based learning.
9. All K-12 ELL decisions will be made collectively with OASD administration and the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.
10. Participate alongside principals in the process of recruitment, screening, training, orientation, and assignment of ELL department personnel.
11. Prepare and submit agendas and minutes for all meetings to the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.
12. Recommend and coordinate the ELL departmental budget and coordinate expenditures through the purchase requisition process through involvement of department staff and administrative personnel.
13. Maintain ELL inventory records for supplies, textbooks, instructional equipment, and so forth. Oversee repair, maintenance, and safety of ELL department equipment.
14. Maintain open lines of communication and cooperation between the ELL staff and K-12 schools.
15. Faciliate and enhance transition procedures between 4K and K, grades 5 and 6, grades 8 and 9.
16. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the administrative staff within the parameters of the employee handbook, Board of Education policies, state statutes, and administrative rules.
17. Perform any additional assigned duties.
