Expected pay for this position is $38.75 - $45.59/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.


Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Research Compliance Analyst III (RCA) is a research administration and oversight professional with subject matter expertise and proficiency in human subject protections and research administration. The RCA III is responsible for ensuring institutional due diligence in compliance with regulations, laws, ethical principles and professional standards that govern the conduct of human subject research involving OSF HealthCare. The RCA III performs comprehensive analysis, develops and leads educational & consultative support, and develops and leads continuous quality assurance & improvement efforts to maintain ethical standards and regulatory compliance. The RCA III acts as a liaison between research teams, the institution(s), and the Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), safeguarding the interests of all parties & participants involved in the conduct and oversight of human subject research. The RCA III must exhibit advanced subject matter expertise in the conceptualization and conduct of clinical and non-clinical research (i.e., protocol development and scientific method, data management, funding and billing), independence and initiative in the performance of job duties, and leadership characteristics and skills.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master’s degree

 

Experience:

  • 6 years of experience in research regulatory compliance, research administration, human subject protection, institutional review board, research ethics, research compliance and/or a closely related field
  • 6 years of experience in research regulatory compliance, research administration, human subject protection, institutional review board, research ethics, research compliance and/or a closely related field

 

Licensure/ Certification:

Current research professional certification 

Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP),

Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC),

Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC),

or Certified IRB Professional (CIP)

 

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Clinical experience or working knowledge of clinical medicine (e.g., terminology, workflows) Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with research-related databases and software systems
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail to apply specialized expertise to achieve results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication along with excellent interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships & produce optimal results
  • Self-driven & independent– taking initiative for continuous quality improvement and professional development
  • Assessment/analysis/evaluation of complex clinical research protocols and accompanying regulatory materials
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently & independently– prioritizing & executing
  • Accountability to set and meet timelines/deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in both a heads-down, independent work environment as well as work on team projects collaboratively Proficiency with identifying, interpreting, and applying the multiple regulatory frameworks governing conduct of research (e.g., Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), National Institutes of Health (NIH)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences or other field related to research and/or health care

 

Experience:

Experience conducting and/or formal oversight of human subject's research Post approval monitoring Project management Policy development

Licensure/ Certification: Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Epic proficiency – specifically research functionality
