Summary
This position is responsible for providing quality, proficient and professional laboratory services in a critical access hospital and outpatient setting. The MLT/MLS position collects and processes specimens using appropriate technique, performs testing and verifies assay/analyzer performance. This position is responsible for testing in all of the following areas: hematology, coagulation, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis and transfusion medicine. Additional responsibilities include documentation and communication of laboratory results, and assay/analyzer maintenance.

Qualifications
- Minimum of associate degree in a lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, required.
- Qualified to work in a high complex laboratory, required.
- Laboratory certification such as ASCP or AMT. If not certified at time of hire, must acquire certification within 12 months, required.
- At least one year of experience required.
Responsibilities
- Collect and process specimens using appropriate technique.
- Perform testing and verify assay/analyzer performance.
- Responsible for testing in any of the following areas: hematology, coagulation, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis and transfusion medicine.
- Document and communicate lab test results thoroughly and accurately.
- Perform and document assay/analyzer maintenance.
