Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, offering product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for all transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Manage cashier responsibilities such as scanning items, applying discounts, and ensuring correct billing with retail math accuracy
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their purchase experience
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented to attract shoppers
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions via phone etiquette or in person, addressing concerns promptly and professionally
• Conduct basic inventory tasks such as stock replenishment, inventory counts, and assisting with product demos to educate customers about new offerings

Skills

• Strong proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Previous supervising experience or leadership roles in retail environments is a plus
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory management
• Excellent communication skills in both bilingual (if applicable) and monolingual settings to connect with diverse customers
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos to engage shoppers effectively
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail sales environments enhances your adaptability
• Demonstrated phone etiquette and customer service skills that create positive interactions
• Upselling techniques that increase sales while maintaining a customer-first approach
