Position Overview
The Solar Farm Project Construction Lead is the senior onsite leader responsible for executing and delivering a utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) project from pre-construction through commissioning. This role leads all onsite operations, including internal teams and subcontractors, while ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC).
This is not a fully autonomous Project Manager role.
The Construction Lead is responsible for onsite execution, coordination, and problem-solving, while working closely with headquarters in Spain, where final commercial and strategic decisions are made.
This position requires a strong field leader who can identify risks, propose solutions, and execute efficiently within a HQ-driven structure.

Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution
- Serve as the primary onsite leader responsible for day-to-day execution
- Lead Site Superintendents, field staff, and subcontractors
- Ensure project execution aligns with plans and direction provided by HQ in Spain
- Act as the key bridge between onsite teams and Spain-based leadership
Coordination with HQ (Spain)
- Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to HQ
- Identify project risks, constraints, and opportunities, and present actionable solutions
- Support HQ in decision-making by supplying accurate field data and context
- Execute project strategy and commercial decisions defined by HQ
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and manage construction schedules and execution plans
- Support development of overall project schedule (subject to HQ approval)
- Coordinate permitting, interconnection, and construction sequencing
Construction Execution
- Oversee all onsite construction activities across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes
- Monitor productivity, staffing, and subcontractor performance
- Ensure efficient coordination across all trades and stakeholders
Union Labor Management
- Lead execution in union labor environments
- Coordinate with union representatives and ensure compliance with CBAs
- Manage workforce planning and labor-related challenges onsite
Budget & Cost Control
- Support development of project budgets and forecasts
- Track costs and identify variances or risks
- Provide recommendations to HQ; final financial decisions remain with HQ
Procurement & Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams (U.S. and Spain)
- Ensure timely material delivery and resolution of field design issues
- Provide field feedback to improve constructability and execution
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Proactively identify risks related to schedule, cost, design, and execution
- Present clear, solution-oriented recommendations to leadership
- Drive timely resolution of issues to avoid delays or cost impacts
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and all regulatory requirements
- Enforce company safety standards and a strong safety culture onsite
Communication & Reporting
- Provide consistent updates in both English and Spanish
- Maintain accurate reporting on schedule, cost, and field progress
- Ensure alignment between field execution and HQ expectations
Project Closeout
- Oversee commissioning and final execution phases
- Ensure completion of punch lists, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Support final reporting and project evaluation
Required Qualifications
- 7–15 years of experience in solar EPC or utility-scale PV construction roles
- Proven experience in onsite construction leadership (Project Manager, Construction Manager, or similar)
- Strong background in field execution on large-scale solar projects
- Demonstrated experience working in union labor environments in the U.S.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (required)
- Experience coordinating across engineering, procurement, and construction teams
- Ability to operate effectively within a HQ-driven decision-making structure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on utility-scale projects (50MW )
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- OSHA 30 (or higher) certification
- Experience working with international or European teams
