Orthopedic & Sports Therapy of Kenner has a position available immediately for a Physical TherapyTech. The clinic is an 8000 sq.ft. facility specializing in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. The clinic is open Monday - Friday. The facility is a Cybex equipped facility with both isokinetic and isotonic machines and full cardio section. Our therapists are trained and practice IASTM, dry needling, and incorporate manual techniques in patient care treatment.
We are looking for a dynamic person that not only loves the field of physical therapy, but loves to interact with people and work together in a team approach to help restore patients to a normal lifestyle.
Essential Functions:
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
Responsible for providing specific treatment only as directed by the staff physical therapist.
- Maintain adequate knowledge base regarding precautions for the patient undergoing physical treatments
- Communicate any changes in condition to staff physical therapist or other facility personnel as appropriate
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly
- Interact professionally with patients/family
- Help transport patients to their vehicles
- Prepare and clean treatment area for patient use. Perform cleaning periodically throughout the day along with end of day preparations - including washing and folding patient towels and gowns
- Demonstrate ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of physical therapy modalities
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations
- Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information
- Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- One year experience as PT Tech or in Healthcare is preferred
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
- Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases & cleaning chemicals
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
. Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
