Duties
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical histories and explaining treatment plans.
- Prepare treatment areas by setting up equipment, supplies, and ensuring cleanliness to promote a safe environment.
- Support patients during therapy sessions by guiding exercises, monitoring their comfort levels, and providing encouragement.
- Help with patient positioning and transfers using proper body mechanics to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient activities, progress notes, and treatment details in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and promptly report any concerns or adverse reactions to the supervising therapist.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations.
- Support the clinical team in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere that fosters patient trust and engagement.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in hospital or clinical settings is highly preferred, especially in inpatient or outpatient environments.
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively support therapy activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient service and care with a compassionate approach towards diverse populations such as geriatrics or those recovering from orthopedic injuries.
- Familiarity with acute care, post-acute care, sub-acute care settings, or hospital medicine enhances your ability to adapt quickly.
- Experience with intake procedures and understanding of outpatient clinic workflows is advantageous.
