Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Office Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, completing front desk operations, and supporting administrative functions within a busy medical practice. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to ensure effective communication with diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Schedule appointments using EMR systems.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures
- Collect payments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer patient inquiries, and provide excellent phone etiquette
- Assist with intake procedures, including data entry and document collection
- Review care plans and update patient information within electronic health records
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies
- Support office management tasks including appointment reminders, follow-up calls, and general administrative support
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role; clinic or dental office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), insurance verification, and health information management
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (10 key typing)
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
