Candidates must live in Ohio permanently. This position is eligible for remote/onsite hybrid work arrangement after completion of a 90-day introductory period.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Patient Accounts, the Data Analyst, Patient Accounts will assist in data collection and analysis, reporting, coordination of projects and assist in process implementation. This role provides extensive data management support to obtain and prepare data for analysis. Shares knowledge with leadership through ad hoc communication. Position requires maintaining strict confidentiality of all data and information as the position will have access to business sensitive or confidential information including patient clinical or financial information. The individual selected for this role will work closely with the Patient Accounts Director to develop analytics solutions that align with the Orthopedic One’s strategy and vision. Examples of work include SQL development, data analysis, data mining, and data validation.

Reporting and Analysis:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Information Technology, Statistics or another relevant major is required. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Specialized knowledge and experience include Intermediate SAS programming skills or 1 or more years using SQL. Demonstrated ability to use various software such as MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint. Requires excellent communication, analytical, facilitation, problem-solving skills and project leadership experience. Three or more years of work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, manipulating large amounts of data, developing complex queries and analyses, managing multiple projects, preparing reports and presentations and working in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Reporting and Analysis:
- Understand key revenue cycle metrics and performance indicators and provide reporting of operational and financial performance
- Enable the prevention of payment denials and the optimization of cycle times between patient discharges and reimbursements from insurance companies.
- Determine appropriate methods to analyze operations, relevant information, and data. Create new queries and analysis tools, develops databases as needed and acquires data desired.
- Develop high quality infrastructure or quantitative analysis tools; normalize data for reporting ease.
- Interprets results, identifies trends, and provides director with business insights and performance metrics through the use of data analysis methods and modeling.
- Perform analysis on an ad hoc basis as required to support the operational needs of the Patient Accounts Department.
- Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) findings of analyses and audits to support operation and financial decisions
- Acts as local support and super user, working with all levels of associates to identify issues and root causes and process improvement.
- Provides project management support for leadership. Leads implementation plans to ensure stability of workflows and solutions.
- Assist in the development/coding, implementation and management of automation reports, dashboards, and other SQL-based analytics tools used for revenue cycle and other critical business functions.
- Create and manage documentation (such as SOPs and data dictionaries) for various data solutions, reports, and dashboards.
- Works cooperatively with coworkers, providers, and management.

- Patient Accounts Schedule: Regular Full Time, Day Shift
