What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist -Workers Comp/No Fault Follow up position at Orthopedic Associates of Long Island?

Orthopedic Associates of Long Island (OALI) is a multispecialty orthopedic practice whose main office is in East Setauket. We feature 19 Physicians, 13 Physician Assistants, and 8 offices
We process all claims for our providers, including Workers Compensation and No Fault, surgeries, and commercial insurance coverage. Prior knowledge and experience in the above mentioned, required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD10, CPT codes and the correct use of modifiers
- Experience with Medicare, Commercial, Worker's Comp and No Fault claims follow up
- Able to handle patient inquiries regarding billing issues, out of network issues, explaining insurance guidelines to patients
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations and guidelines
- Adheres to Billing and Collections guidelines
- Excellent organizational skills with strict attention to detail
- Applicant must have strong denial and follow-up management skills
- Able to accurately read and interpret EOB's
- Working rejections from the clearinghouse to correct errors for resubmissions
- Read and analyze patient records to determine correct codes for billing to W/C-N/F provider
- Interpret EOB's for accurate payment was received
- Ensure A/R payments are current and all delinquent accounts are being followed up in a timely fashion
- Timely follow up with payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims
