What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist - Charge Entry position at Orthopedic Associates of Long Island?
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
An individual with at least 2 or more years of billing experience in charge entry, preferably in Orthopedics. Someone who is organized and who is available Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. This is a on-site position ONLY
WHO WE ARE:
Orthopedic Associates of Long Island (OALI) is a multispecialty orthopedic practice whose main office is in East Setauket. We feature 19 Physicians, 15 Physician Assistants, and 8 offices from West Babylon to Southampton.
We process all claims for our providers, including Workers Compensation and No Fault, surgeries, and commercial insurance coverage. Prior knowledge and experience in the above mentioned, required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD10, CPT codes and the correct use of modifiers
- Experience with Medicare, Commercial, Worker's Comp and No Fault claims follow up
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations and guidelines
- Adheres to Billing guidelines
- Excellent organizational skills with strict attention to detail
- Applicant must have strong coding skills
- Read and analyze patient chart to determine correct codes for billing to insurance provider
