Position Description
The Legal Secretary Aide supports the Legal Secretaries. He/She provides comprehensive clerical and organizational support to the secretaries, including scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, communicating with clients, and maintaining case files.
Job Responsibilities
- Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic case files, including patient records and legal documents.
- Answering phone calls, taking messages, and providing basic information.
- Receive all records for IME, Expert Witness, and Second Opinion patients, make sure that they are put together properly for the physician to review.
- Ensure proper payment for depositions, conferences, telephones conferences, etc. and then give the check to the appropriate personnel for posting.
- Obtains any necessary information the adjusters or case managers need for payment.
- Speak with adjustors, attorneys, etc. to schedule appointments, IME’s, etc.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of computers as we are a chartless office, using Allscripts PM and Exscribe EHR system knowledge a plus
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and a team-player
- Possess a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Some Knowledge of Health Insurances
- Ability to speak with adjustors, attorneys, etc.
- Additional duties as assigned
Education/Experience Compensation and Benefits
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- 1 years’ experience in an healthcare office setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
