Accounting Analyst

About the Role:

Orthopedic Center of Illinois is recruiting an Accounting Analyst to join our Team.

The Accounting Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of accounting records within the health care and social assistance sector. This position is responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying variances, and reconciling accounts to support sound financial decision-making. The analyst will prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Additionally, the role involves managing complex transactions such as wire transfers and foreign currency exchanges, which are essential for maintaining accurate financial records. Ultimately, the Accounting Analyst contributes to the financial health of the organization by providing detailed insights and supporting efficient financial operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in variance analysis, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced use of pivot tables.
• Knowledge of balance sheet accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Familiarity with wire transfer processes and foreign currency transactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the health care or social assistance industry.
• Certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems commonly used in health care organizations.
• Advanced training in financial analysis or data analytics.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements specific to health care financial management.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies in financial data.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and maintain pivot tables and other analytical tools to support financial reporting and decision-making.
• Manage and process wire transfers and foreign currency transactions in compliance with organizational policies.
• Compile and analyze financial reports and statements to support management and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls within the health care and social assistance environment.
