What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technologist position at Orthopaedic Associates, Inc?
Orthopaedic Associates is a fast-paced, 14-physician orthopaedic practice with four practice locations in Evansville and Newburgh, IN and Henderson, KY. We are currently seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team. This could be a full-time benefits eligible position or a part-time position. We are closed on the six major holidays and new employees are eligible for holiday pay and insurance after completing their first 60 days of employment. We also offer a lucrative PTO plan and 401k with a matching component.
This position would be required to work at our Newburgh location. Hours are generally Monday - Thursday, 8am - 4:30pm and Friday 8am - 12:00pm.
The MRI Technologist responsibilities will include following physician instructions, explaining the MRI procedure to patients, selecting software options and imaging parameters on the MRI machine, viewing images from the imaging session, and keeping records of reports.

- Prepare the MRI room for the patient and obtain necessary images
- Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure the patient complies with all safety standards
- Monitor patients during scanning
- Maneuver the MRI equipment and position it to capture the correct images
- Maintain proper quality control procedures
- Perform MRI procedures in accordance with protocols
- Perform clerical work as it pertains to keeping the MRI department running. Examples include:
- Proofreading MRI reports, uploading reports into EMR, entering physician MRI orders, and screening for implants
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures
