Associate Sales Consultant
Overall Responsibility
To provide technical assistance in the O.R. for orthopaedic and neurosurgical spinal procedures. This position requires a highly-motivated individual who is willing to focus, observe, and take the initiative to study independently and learn exceedingly technical products and procedures. Once trained, sales consultants are expected to display sales expertise and to demonstrate product knowledge, as well as the ability to exercise professionalism, sound time management skills, and initiative.
Additional tasks include supporting case planning, instrument, and implant management (set-up and clean-up), and general logistical responsibilities in the territory. Future responsibilities would include generating new leads, developing sales plan, and delivering on sales initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Provide technical assistance and direction in the operation room while surgeon/staff is utilizing product
- Submit proper delivered good forms for products utilized in surgery
- Ensures all instrument sets are complete for surgical cases
- Manage inventory to assure customer has correct products available to complete surgeons, including resolution of back orders
- Manage that coordination of implant/instrument delivery as need for surgery
- Assist in territory logistics for movement of inventory
- Become expert on all products represented and all procedures in which product is utilized
- Assist in generating new sales leads
- Assist in development of a sales plan for future business opportunities
- Works in conjunction with team leader and sales management on delivering sales initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in areas of Health Sciences and/or Engineering; interest in medicine and sales
- Ability to communicate with variety of individuals from Physicians to Environment Services Staff
- Ability to perform in hospital setting and obtain necessary credentialing.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Preference given to those with experience in medical device sales
