Job Summary

Responsible for performing all necessary MRI scans, related duties, customer service and accurate computer data entry.

Essential Functions

• Performs MRI procedures at the technical level which may require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
• Confidently screens patients for safety and communicates with the radiologist for any concerns.
• Competent in IV placement and contrast administration.
• Checks orders, organizes paperwork, and communicates with ordering providers and radiologists in a professional manner.
• Completes MRI exams within the computer systems.
• Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in our policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide complete and accurate documentation with the patient’s chart.
• Ensures the equipment is in working order, and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintains MRI examination room. Stocks necessary medical and MRI supplies.
• Team player that offers assistance with other duties as needed or requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to anticipate and react calmly to emergency situations, identifying and resolving possible problems.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Maintain department quality assurance logs.
• Provide complete guidance and accurate instruction to patients.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and vendors.
  
  

Physical/Mental Demands

• Combination of repetitive motions of sitting, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, crouching, standing, lifting, talking, and hearing
• Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and may need to help transfer patients up to 500 pounds.
• Requires use of computer equipment, work requires ability to walk, sit stand, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Able to mobilize to all SBO locations if needed.
• Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
  
  

Environmental Working Conditions

• This position provides combinations of office, clinic, and MRI settings.
• High level of exposure to communicable illnesses like the flu.
• The worker is subject to hazards including moving mechanical parts, electricity, high places, or chemicals.
  
  

Standard Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree in MRI. Must be registered in MR by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Experience: Minimum of one-year experience as MRI technologist.
• Requirements: Current certification with the MR Registry; CPR certification
