What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Marketing Manager position at ORS Partners?
Job Title: Product Marketing Manager
Location: Greater Houston Area, Texas
Job Type: Hybrid
Description
What You'll Accomplish In This Role
- Translate product roadmaps into market narratives — work directly with Product to understand what's coming, then shape it into language that makes Sales and customers actually care
- Build playbooks that Sales actually uses — not 50-page PDFs gathering dust, but the 3-5 key resources that help your team move deals forward faster
- Own competitive and customer insight discipline — run win/loss analysis, gather field feedback, spot gaps, and feed that back to Product, Marketing, and Sales so every team works from the same understanding
- Sharpen your competitive edge in the market — identify what differentiates our client's product, then weave it into messaging, pitch decks, battle cards, and partner enablement so nobody misses it
- Move three key metrics that matter — higher average revenue per sale, better close rates, stronger product attach rates, and improved customer retention
You're directly influencing how the market sees the product and how much revenue the company closes.
What You Need to Succeed
- 2-3 years in product marketing, GTM strategy, or B2B SaaS go-to-market roles where you owned positioning, messaging, or sales enablement
- Track record building and shipping product positioning, sales playbooks, competitive analysis, or industry-specific messaging that Sales and teams actually used
- Ability to translate product capability into compelling messaging and practical tools (pitch decks, one-pagers, customer stories, objection handling guides)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration — you work with Product, Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, Customer Success, and sometimes external partners, and you're comfortable in ambiguity with multiple stakeholders
- Commercial orientation — you understand how messaging and enablement actually move the needle on revenue, and you care about those metrics
Preferences:
- Experience in payroll, HCM, HR tech, restaurant tech, franchise systems, or vertical SaaS
- Background in partner-led go-to-market motions
- Experience running Voice of Customer or win/loss research programs
What's In It For You
Ownership and Influence Without the Politics
You're not a support function. You drive decisions. You shape how the market sees the company and influence revenue outcomes. You get to own the outcomes, not just execute someone else's plan.
Rapid Skill Expansion
You'll get better at understanding market dynamics, sales strategy, product strategy, and customer behavior all at once. That's rare. Most careers let you choose one or two. Here you get all four.
Direct Path to Strategic Leadership
If you're interested in moving toward a Chief Marketing Officer, Head of GTM, or VP of Strategy role down the road, this is the right ladder to climb. You're building the strategic foundation for everything else.
Real Revenue Impact
You'll see the connection between your work and company outcomes. When average deal size goes up, when close rate improves, when expansion happens, you're going to know your playbooks and messaging made that possible.
Work in a High-Respect Function
You're between Product and Sales, which means both teams need you. You get credibility from understanding technical capability and market reality. That makes you valuable to every stakeholder.
