Orlando Science Charter School East Campus is seeking a dependable, energetic, and student-centered Student Support and Afterschool Program Specialist to join our team.

Your Impact
As a Student Support and Afterschool Program Specialist, you will:

Key Responsibilities
Student Support and Campus Supervision
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, dismissal, transitions, and other school activities.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment throughout the school day.
- Monitor hallways, common areas, and designated campus locations.
- Assist students with navigating the campus and following daily routines.
- Reinforce school expectations and address behavior concerns in a respectful and consistent manner.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or hazards to appropriate school personnel.
- Support arrival and dismissal procedures, including student verification and supervision.
Afterschool Program Leadership
- Assist with the daily operation of the Afterschool Care Program.
- Create a safe, engaging, and positive afterschool environment.
- Support students during homework and study time.
- Organize and supervise age-appropriate games, recreation, and enrichment activities.
- Lead outdoor activities and physical movement opportunities when appropriate.
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive peer interactions.
- Assist with snack distribution and daily program routines.
- Implement positive behavior management strategies and conflict resolution techniques.
Student Mentorship and Relationship Building
- Build positive connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Support students in developing confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills.
- Encourage respectful communication and problem-solving.
- Serve as a trusted adult who helps students navigate challenges throughout the school day.
School Operations Support
- Assist faculty and staff with general school support needs.
- Provide basic clerical and administrative assistance as assigned.
- Help coordinate school activities, events, and student programs.
- Operate basic office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.
- Maintain organized workspaces and assist with supply management.
- Support cafeteria supervision and cleanup as needed.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, welcoming, and functional school environment.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children in a school setting.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and reliability.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Preferred
- Experience working with children in schools, camps, afterschool programs, youth organizations, sports programs, or similar settings.
- Associate's degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience with behavior management or conflict resolution.
- Basic technology and office skills.
