What are the responsibilities and job description for the KidsTown Presenter and Program Designer position at Orlando Science Center.?
The KidsTown Presenter and Program Designer is responsible for providing quality play and learning experiences for the Science Center’s youngest learners. The KidsTown Presenter and Program Designer is responsible for the creation of developmentally appropriate Storytime content for children ages 0-7 and their families as well as the presentation of this content on the exhibit floor. This role is expected to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate excellent guest service skills.
Essential Functions
- Maintains a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for all KidsTown visitors.
- Engages comfortably with young children and their accompanying adults through a range of educational content, programs, and activities.
- Researches, develops, and facilitates developmentally appropriate Storytime and other relevant KidsTown programming content for young children and families in daily programming, on the exhibit floor, and for special events.
- Works with the Manager of KidsTown to create and deliver content, engage and assist community partners, manage program schedules, and support the organization of KidsTown events as assigned.
- Assists in training new staff members, interns, and volunteers.
- Completes regular cleaning tasks as assigned, including tidying the exhibit space and cleaning activity materials.
- Staffs each area of the KidsTown exhibit hall.
- Stays up to date on the activities offered in KidsTown as well as building-wide in order to best assist guests.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Degree seeking or hold a degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Science, or a related field.
- Experience & Certifications: Proven experience working with children and families in a formal or informal setting, experience creating developmentally appropriate educational content for children ages 0-7.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with theatrical performance, improv, or public speaking.
- Bilingual a plus.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
- This position is full-time and must be able to work weekends, holidays, school breaks, and after hour events as needed.
- Travel throughout the Central Florida area may be required to attend conferences/trainings/deliver programs.
