What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine Operator In Training position at Orizon Aerostructures?
As an Operator‑in‑Training / CNC Machine Operator, you will:
- Load parts, operate machine controls, machine components, inspect finished parts, and deburr as required
- Monitor parts during production to ensure conformance to quality and customer requirements
- Follow established processes, sequences of operations, and setup requirements (with supervision as needed)
- Read and interpret basic blueprint dimensions and tolerances
- Meet Earned Standard Hours goals and performance objectives
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including:
- PCDs
- Job clock‑in/clock‑out entries
- Daily operator checklists
- Paper and/or Syteline records
- Follow Orizon’s procedures for identifying, documenting, and controlling nonconforming parts
- Participate in and sustain Ultra C‑Lean initiatives
- Maintain proper inventory and care of hand tools and inspection equipment
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and promptly report issues to the Cell Leader or supervision
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with all policies and procedures
- Perform machine setups and tool offsets (verified by a Team Lead or Machinist before production)
- Accurately complete the Tie‑In Book, including detailed notes on completed work, tool issues, machine alerts, setup checks, and shadow boards
- Mark each unloaded part with your employee number and associated operation number (PCD or IR aligned)
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
