CNA -Acute

CNA with 1 year experience preferred on acute care, Telemetry monitored floors (2 floors). May work as a sitter. Combo of 8 hr and 12 hour shifts. Days and/or nights.

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our acute-care healthcare team. The CNA will work closely with Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality direct patient care.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment and have strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or other licensed healthcare professional.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Assist patients with mobility, ambulation, transfers, and repositioning.
• Measure and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation as directed.
• Assist with feeding and hydration while following patient-specific dietary requirements.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing staff.
• Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient requests.
• Assist nurses with patient care procedures within the CNA//'s authorized scope of practice.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment.
• Assist with transporting patients to diagnostic tests, procedures, and other departments.
• Follow infection-control procedures and hospital safety protocols.
• Accurately document patient care and observations in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge-related activities as directed.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification/license in the applicable state.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous acute-care or hospital experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond appropriately to changing patient needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals.
