What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Maintenance Technician position at Orion Talent?
We are seeking Equipment Maintenance Technicians for a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Durham, NC.
This is an excellent opportunity for military technicians and early-career technical professionals looking to build a career in advanced manufacturing and semiconductor equipment maintenance.
Prior semiconductor experience is NOT required. We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who are comfortable working with tools, troubleshooting equipment, reading technical documentation, and learning complex manufacturing systems.
Compensation: $30–$35/hr. shift differential
Day Shift: 5% differential
Night Shift: 15% differential
Location: Durham, NC
Schedule: 12-hour shifts
What You'll Do:
Perform preventive and proactive maintenance on advanced manufacturing equipment.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment using technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Use test and diagnostic equipment to support troubleshooting and maintenance.
Replace filters, seals, O-rings, brushes, and other equipment components.
Maintain detailed maintenance records.
Support equipment reliability, spare parts, and 5S activities.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with electrical systems.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical/maintenance manuals.
Comfortable working with hand tools and performing hands-on equipment maintenance.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
Military technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. Relevant backgrounds may include electronics, electrical, aviation maintenance, mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, nuclear power, and other technical maintenance specialties.
