Lead Engineer – Engineering
We are seeking a Lead Engineer to join our engineering team. This role reports directly to the President & CEO and will play a critical part in supporting design, manufacturing, repair, and field service activities for pumps and steam turbines.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the design of new pumps, pumping systems, and components using ANSYS, Finite Element Analysis, and CAD/CAM software.
- Create accurate 3D models of components using Autodesk Inventor and 3D scanning technologies.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production and repair processes.
- Collaborate with the sales team and customers, reviewing specifications, specifying components, and creating requisitions.
- Participate in pump/turbine “Tear Down & Inspect” (TDI) processes, recommend repair methods, and assist in cost estimation.
- Lead and support field service crews in installation, repair, and commissioning of pump/turbine systems.
- Provide hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in the design and application of centrifugal pumps, turbines, or related rotating equipment.
- Strong knowledge of marine, offshore, or industrial market requirements.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electric motor/control systems.
- Expertise in pump/turbine design, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, ANSYS, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with GD&T, technical drawings, and manufacturing processes.
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or plant environment (including lifting up to 50 lbs).
