About the Role
Original Footwear is a fast-growing, PE-backed manufacturer with government contracting and multi-entity operations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable General Accountant to support day-to-day accounting activities. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely month-end close, and supporting compliance across core accounting functions.
This is a hands-on position offering close collaboration with the operations and sales team in a growing manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable: Prepare and issue customer invoices, apply payments, maintain AR aging, and support collections follow-up.
- Accounts Payable: Review, code, and process vendor invoices; prepare and execute payments (ACH, wire, and checks).
- General Ledger: Record journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger activity.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end close activities, including accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation, and WIP adjustments.
- Sales Tax Reporting: Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns (CA, TN, FL, TX, and additional states as required).
- Additional Support: Assist with ad-hoc projects, audit requests, government contracting reporting, and other accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing or government contracting experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and reconciliations
- Experience supporting month-end close and sales tax filings
- Proficiency with NetSuite (preferred) or a comparable ERP system
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet strict monthly deadlines
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
