Data Governance Director – Global Private Equity
Location: Boston, MA (Back Bay)
Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days WFH
A leading global alternative investment firm is expanding its Global Private Equity Data Governance function and is hiring a Data Governance Director. This individual will play a key role in shaping and executing the data governance strategy for the firm’s private equity business.
This is a newly built function with strong visibility and the opportunity to drive meaningful process and systems transformation across Finance, Operations, Reporting, Investor Relations, and Technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks, standards, and controls for the private equity business
- Map and document end-to-end data and reporting processes; identify inefficiencies and design scalable solutions
- Partner closely with Finance, Fund Operations, Investment Operations, Investor Relations, and Technology to enhance data flows and reporting quality
- Lead or support key initiatives involving: Deal pipeline and portfolio monitoring systems, Fund accounting and finance systems, Valuation models and revenue workflows, Data lake infrastructure and reporting/visualization tools
- Contribute to systems architecture decisions and firmwide data strategy
Candidate Profile
- 10 years, including leadership of data or reporting initiatives
- Experience in private equity, asset management, investment operations, fund finance, or closely related buy-side environments
- Background in data governance, reporting, systems implementation, or process/control design
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach in a data-intensive environment
- Prior experience in private equity or with reporting/visualization tools (Power BI or similar) is preferred.
Compensation
The firm offers competitive compensation packages aligned to level, comprised of base salary, annual performance bonus, and a profit-sharing component with a strong historic payout record.

Salary : $170,000 - $210,000
