Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of all donor tissue service operations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring a consistent, compliant, and sustainable supply of donated human tissue in alignment with company goals and regulatory standards. The incumbent will work with recovery agencies and internal leadership to drive operational excellence across the donor program and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. As the key liaison between procurement agencies, the medical director, quality, and operations departments, this role ensures the highest standards of donor record review, donor eligibility, and tissue recovery processes. This position requires exceptional leadership, sound judgment, and deep respect for the mission of donation.


General Responsibilities

  • Leads the operational performance of the donor recovery and tissue acquisition program, ensuring optimal efficiency, compliance, and partner engagement.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains departmental policies, procedures, and systems that meet or exceed regulatory, quality, and accrediting standards.
  • Directs and ensures timely and accurate collection, review, and approval of donor medical records in coordination with quality assurance and medical director teams.
  • Strengthens long-term partnerships with organ and tissue recovery organizations, hospital networks, and other donation partners to advance shared objectives and maximize tissue recovery outcomes.
  • Analyzes and interprets recovery agency data, developing and communicating performance reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Leads the creation of analytical tools and dashboards that monitor partner KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives consistent with federal, state, and industry standards.
  • Ensures alignment between tissue recovery forecasts and production needs, maintaining a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Collaborates with procurement and production teams to expedite acquisition of medical records and donor materials for time-sensitive product lines.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BSC from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Candidates with advanced degrees and/or certifications (e.g. Registered Nurse (RN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Surgical Technicians (CST/ORT), Paramedic (EMT), Healthcare Administration or Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS)) are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in donor services, organ/tissue recovery, or healthcare administration, including time spent in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex donor recovery operations, regulatory compliance, and partner relations.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, AATB, and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Proven ability to analyze performance metrics.
