About the Role
Oregon Trail Eye Center (OTEC) is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Billing Office Float Staff member to join our Revenue Cycle Team. This position supports multiple revenue cycle functions and requires the ability to cross-train, prioritize competing tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional customer service skills, strong attention to detail, professionalism, integrity, and a high level of confidentiality. The Billing Office Float reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and manage insurance authorizations
- Perform medical coding and charge entry
- Process insurance claims and follow up as needed
- Enter and post payments accurately
- Ensure full compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, HIPAA, and regulatory agencies
- Coordinate responses to external payer audits
- Areas to be supported outside of the Billing office include:
- Patient check-in/Check-Out
- Phone reception with appointment scheduling
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and staff
- Participate in meetings, continuing education, and other organization events
