Job Description

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Technology, Inventory, and Facilities Assistant positions for Disability Access Services at Oregon State University. The student employee will support the tracking, maintenance, and organization of technology equipment, inventory, and classroom furniture. Responsibilities include assisting with technology demonstrations, inventory control, furniture placement and tracking, workspace organization, and other operational and administrative duties that support department services and accessibility needs.

Position Duties

  • Track and maintain inventory records for technology equipment, furniture, and other departmental assets.
  • Assist with furniture placement, relocation, setup, and inventory tracking.
  • Conduct inventory audits and update databases to ensure accurate records.
  • Prepare, configure, distribute, collect, and organize technology equipment.
  • Perform routine technology maintenance, software updates, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Label, organize, store, and secure equipment and furnishings.
  • Assist with classroom furniture moves, workspace setup, and general facilities-related projects.
  • Provide customer service and basic technology support to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Complete other duties as assigned in support of department operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
    • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

    Required Qualifications

    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
    • Ability to accurately enter and maintain records.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with inventory management & tracking.
    • Experience troubleshooting technology.
    • Familiarity with assistive technology or accessibility services.
    • Experience working in an educational or customer service environment.

    Working Conditions/Schedule

    • Combination of office, computer, and inventory storage environments.
    • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds.
    • Frequent use of computers and technology devices.
    • Flexible schedule during university operating hours.
