What you will need to be successful:
- Consumer Lending Expertise: Demonstrated experience overseeing the full cycle of consumer lending operations including lead generation, borrower engagement, underwriting, credit analysis and loan funding. Proven ability to lead complex lending operations, manage portfolio performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and policy standards. Familiarity with lending technologies, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Leadership & Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience developing and executing lending strategies aligned with organizational goals and risk appetite. Showcases strong analytical skills to evaluate financial and operational data and assess risk/return trade-offs to guide informed decision making. Proven ability in using key performance metrics to drive transparency and continuous improvement in lending operations. Skilled in cross-functional collaboration to drive member retention and service excellence.
- Talent Development: Proven ability to lead performance management, coach and mentor leaders and team members, and foster a high-performance, member-centric culture focused on continuous development, team engagement and succession planning. Skilled in providing timely, constructive feedback and recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation and collaboration skills. Proven ability to build trust and foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to represent the credit union in industry associations and community partnerships.
- Experience & Education: At least twelve years of lending and leadership experience in financial services, preferably within a credit union or community-based financial institution. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field or equivalent work experience, required.
