The Institute on Development and Disability within the Department of Pediatrics at OHSU works with patients, families, clinicians, researchers and many other professionals to meet the goal of improving the lives of people with disabilities. We perform research and care to support every patient, from premature babies to older adults, facing changes in life due to the onset of disabling conditions. With more than 100 years of practice, we understand how to best meet the needs of our patients and their families in Oregon and beyond.

 

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is offering an opportunity for a full-time pediatric psychology faculty appointment at one of the nation’s top ranked Children’s Hospital as reported U.S. News & World Report. As Oregon’s only academic health center, we strive to offer the best medical care to every child across Oregon, Southwest Washington and beyond.  We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our established team of 25 pediatric psychologists. Embracing multidisciplinary collaboration, we are actively involved in a broad range of clinical care, education and research activities. We are focused on building centers of clinical excellence within pediatric psychology to better serve our patients.

Function/Duties of Position

 

The duties of this position include:

  • Outpatient assessment and treatment of children and adolescent patients of the General Pediatrics Clinics.
  • Working with other members of the Integrated Behavioral Health team to make programmatic quality improvements.
  • Participating in the General Pediatrics research initiatives by helping in the design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results from ongoing clinical research projects.
  • Work with other professionals within General Pediatrics to secure extra-mural funding for clinical service and research.
  • Treating children and their families using empirically-supported intervention strategies.
  • Supervising and providing education to psychology and other trainees.
  • Providing clinical coverage for colleagues as determined appropriate.
  • Attending meetings as requested by supervisor. Duties may vary as long as they are determined by the Discipline Director, the IDD Director, and the General Pediatrics Division Director to meet the needs of the Psychology Division and the General Pediatrics.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD/PsyD degree in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program
  • Licensed (or license-eligible) as a Psychologist in the State of Oregon
  • Experience working in integrated care settings, preferably primary care
  • Experience with a wide variety of evidence-based approaches to brief assessment and intervention for a range of pediatric behavioral health concerns
  • Experience as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated excellence in research and clinical care
