Dental Assistant for Pediatric Dentistry

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a welcoming environment for young patients and their families.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
• Take X-rays and ensure proper imaging techniques are followed.
• Record vital signs and maintain accurate medical records for each patient visit.
• Help manage the flow of patients in the clinic, ensuring timely appointments and minimal wait times.
• Provide education to patients and their families on proper dental hygiene practices tailored for children.
• Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing patient inquiries as needed.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.

Skills

• Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to assist effectively during procedures.
• Experience with X-Ray technology and understanding of safety protocols related to imaging.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices, ensuring comfort for young patients during treatments.
• Knowledge of systems such as Epic for managing medical records efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills to keep track of patient files and clinic operations smoothly.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and team members.
• Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to any health concerns during appointments.
• Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus, enhancing overall clinic efficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.26 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
