Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in exterior building-envelope systems—including siding, stucco/EIFS, and masonry veneer—as well as interior finishes such as flooring and tile. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial projects of varying scale and complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, material lists, and labor estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Estimate scopes including:
- Siding (Hardie, Nichiha, metal, etc.)
- Stucco / EIFS systems
- Stone veneer / masonry cladding
- Interior finishes: flooring, tile, and related materials
- Review construction drawings, specifications, addendums, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability.
- Prepare organized bid proposals, alternates, and value-engineering options.
- Work closely with Project Managers and leadership to ensure smooth handoff after award.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and clarification calls when required.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and project cost history.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial construction.
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Exterior cladding systems (siding, stucco/EIFS, masonry, stone veneer)
- Interior finish scopes (flooring, tile)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong proficiency with measurement and estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Oregon and Washington commercial GCs.
- Familiarity with WRB systems, building-envelope details, and relevant code requirements.
- Experience estimating labor crews and production rates.
- Bilingual (English/Russian or Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
