Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 2,000 students, located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. We are looking for high-energy and creative educators that will continue our collective focus on engaging all learners at high levels, while building students' foundations for the 21st century. Position Description
- Provide counseling, guidance, and support to assigned student caseload.
- Develop student schedules and four year plans that meet graduation requirements and each student’s post high school plans.
- Meet with and support students with academic, social, and mental health needs.
- Implement State School Counseling Standards within Oregon’s Comprehensive School Counseling Framework for counseling and instruction.
- Is responsible, within the building, for the management of 504 plans as provided for under Public Law 94-l42.
- Collaborate with department, building, district, and community stakeholders
- Communicate effectively with students, staff members and parents
- Valid Oregon school counseling license.
- Enthusiasm for learning and implementing intervention strategies, including: PBIS, MTSS, and culturally responsive teaching
- Knowledge of Oregon diploma requirements, college entrance requirements, and scholarships.
- Knowledge of ASCA National School Counseling Model and implementation of school counseling standards and practices.
- Knowledge of the social and emotional needs of high school students
- Knowledge of college, career, and post high school options and pathways for high school students.
- Interest in becoming involved in the whole OCHS community.
