Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is a private member-owned club, recognized as a Distinguished Club™, located in the Town of Orchid, just north of Vero Beach, and beautifully situated on 600 acres from the ocean to the river.

Job Summary:

To answer/direct all calls and provide administrative support to the office. Main duties will be performed in the Golf Club Administration Office. Assist with holiday coverage when required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

• Answer all telephones by the third ring and direct all calls to the correct individual or voice mailbox promptly.
• Greet Members and Guests who may enter the Administration Office. Always be polite and helpful. Address Members by name whenever possible.
• Assist Membership Director and Food & Beverage Director with administrative duties such as typing, phone calls, faxing, setting up files, etc.
• Assist Golf Club Administrative Assistant with maintaining the reservation book in such a manner that it is clear which Member has a reservation at what time. Reservations will include lunch, dinner, and special events. Legible and organized entries are required. Effective and continuous communication must be maintained with Golf Club Administrative Assistant to ensure that over bookings do not occur.
• Assume responsibilities of the Golf Club Administration Office in the absence of the Golf Club Administrative Assistant.
• Any other request made by Membership Director or Food & Beverage Director.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent communications (verbal and written) skills.
• Guide the day-to-day operations of the office in a business-like positive professional nature and ethical manner.
• Name recognition - address members & guests by name, i.e. Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
• Seek to improve self in knowledge and skills.
• Ability to maintain good working relationship with employees, members, vendors and all customers.
• Ability to accurately type.
• Effective use of time and efficient multi-tasker; flexible in work habits and work schedule.
• Demonstrated record of good work attendance and reliability.
• Must be highly organized and detail-orientated.
• Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Outlook
• Ability to operate all office equipment - copier, fax, hand held radio, phone systems etc.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional evenings or holidays.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
