What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veggie and Flower Sales Associate at Garden Center position at Orchard Nursery?
Orchard Nursery is a one-of-a-kind and family-owned garden center known in the Bay Area for a wide selection of quality plants, in addition to our large houseplant offerings and beautiful gift shop.
Come join our creative and close-knit Bedding Team and grow your knowledge of vegetables, annual and perennial flowers, groundcovers and more. This is a seasonal position through May. No pre-existing knowledge is required, but a passion and interest to learn more is a must!
Schedule: Friday-Tuesday (Wednesday/Thursdays off), 9AM-5:30PM
Start Date: mid February to early March
Job Responsibilities
- Greets customers and assist them in finding Bedding plants and other products (ex. Fertilizer)
- Answers Bedding questions over the phone and in person
- Stocks, waters, and maintains Bedding product
- Unloads trucks
Job Qualifications
- Passionate in learning about plants (especially vegetables and annuals)
- Works well in a team and is a clear communicator
- Proactive and a self-starter
- Growth-oriented
- Must be able to work weekends
Physical Qualifications
- Able and willing to work outside every day, rain or shine (and heat and cold)
- Able and willing to lift up to 40lbs
- Able and willing to stand, bend, twist, and squat repetitively throughout an 8-hour day
- Able to comfortably lift and reach above their shoulder frequently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
