Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists with chairside procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote optimal outcomes.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical documentation, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and recordkeeping.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment that adheres to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Knowledge of dental terminology.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages and collaborating with the dental team.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; additional training in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is a plus.
